The formability of the copper square stock made from C101 is good, especially when using cold working techniques. Electric arc techniques like flux cored arc welding and soldering also provide great results.
A naturally hygienic material to use, copper bar slows and kills viruses including e-Coli, MRSA, legionella, and flu and cold viruses because it is antimicrobial. Slugs are effectively repelled by it as well.
C101 is an oxygen-free electronic copper grade with a copper purity of 99.99 per cent and an oxygen value of 0.0005.
This grade is prized more for its chemical purity than for its electrical conductivity, and it has a minimum IACS conductivity rating of 101%. It is meticulously controlled and polished in an oxygen-free atmosphere.
One of the most expensive grades of copper is C101.
C101 copper is one of the most expensive alloys on the market because of its chemical purity. Some common uses of these solid square bars include high-end electronics, automotive, domestic appliances, general engineering and cold formed components.
