Covering a wide range of raw metal materials, ILF Products works with suppliers to plate products in a variety of finishes. Our full range of plating options includes the likes of tin, nickel, silver, and precious metal coverings.

Metal Plating provides a thin coating of metals with minimal coverage, as well as offers outer coverings of flat metal sections that are more durable. Tin plating is amongst one of our most requested options, with chrome plating also being a favourite with our clients. When it comes to outer coverings, brass being such a tough and frequently-utilised material within the industry, serves as the template example of plating for outer coatings.

What do we offer?

ILF Products also offer a variety of specialist insulation surface coating services. This includes powder coating and PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) to specialist coatings applied to very specific metal materials used in a variety of industrial applications. We also carry out pre-treatment to metals, whereby our work begins before the metals are plated. In addition, our metal plating services cover tailor-made plating options that cannot be found on a widespread scale, such as electroplating, electroless nickel (both of which involve the use of electric currents) and chrome plating to name but a few of the plating services that we offer.

Beyond the options that we have already mentioned, we offer numerous metal finishing services that will further enhance the strength and surfacing of metals beyond our core plating work. This includes de-burring, countersinking and tapping, all of which are included as part of any plating projects that we agree with our clients. High quality and customer satisfaction are central to what we deliver, and finishing services are crucial to achieving these goals with all our projects.

Advantages of Metal Plating

Products made of metal and other materials gain a lot from metal plating. The two main methods for accomplishing this are electroplating, which uses an electric current, and electroless plating, which utilizes an autocatalytic chemical reaction. These methods, along with a few others, have one or more of the following advantages:

  • Decreases the risk of corrosion
  • Provides decorative aesthetics
  • Makes solderability better
  • Increases hardness
  • Lowers friction
  • Changes conductivity
  • Improves the bond of the paint
  • Makes magnetism better
